Jewelry Ring Bases

Instructions
1
Buy a sheet of scratch board to use as the core of the ring base and a foam sheet, around a half-inch thick, that can be easily penetrated with scissors. These items usually can be found at a craft store.

2
Spread your rings out onto the foam sheet. Space them about an inch apart to see how large you need to make your ring base. When you have all the rings in place, trace a circle or square outline around the ring area. You will be cutting out this outline, which will be where all of your rings are held in the foam.

3
Cut along the marker lines on the foam. Next, place the cut-out foam board onto the scratch board and outline the same measurements onto the scratch board. Cut out the second outline. Use the glue gun to secure the board to the back of the foam mount to create a solid backing. Let dry.

4
Use the X-ACTO knife to create incisions into the foam. A half-inch long incision should be sufficient to hold a ring. Start on the top of the foam and create incisions about 1 inch apart. Repeat this procedure, working in rows across the ring mount, until it is full of spaced-out incisions.

5
Insert one ring at a time into each of the incisions to hold them, making sure the rings stay securely. Use the X-ACTO knife to widen the incisions if necessary.

6
Place the ring base into a box and store in your closet, under a sink or in your bedroom. The size of the box depends upon the size of your ring base holding the rings. Make sure it is large enough to hold this (if you want to store it in a separate box).
